The oldest settlement of the island. The Latin word „scurpulus" means toothed rock, in Croatian language skrape, finally Škrip. Here you can find the Radojković castle, where the National History Museum operates. The exhibited objects and archeological collections from the roman ages show the history of Brač. The black marble was mined in the query of Škrip. Most of the furniture of the early catholic temples in the Dalmatic region was made of this stone.
